High School Sports:
The Knoch Girls Tennis team reached the state semifinals over the weekend. Knoch defeated Scranton Prep 3-2 Friday in the PIAA 2A quarterfinals. The Knights then fell 3-2 to Wyomissing in the semifinals. Sewickley Academy went on to defeat Wyomissing 3-2 to win the state championship.
WPIAL Girls Soccer semifinals Saturday:
4A: Seneca Valley defeated Upper St. Clair 2-1 and will meet Peters Township in the WPIAL championship.
3A: Mars defeated Hampton 1-0 to improve to 18-0 this season. Ellie Coffield scored the game’s only goal. The Planets will meet Oakland Catholic in the WPIAL Championship.
WPIAL Boys Soccer Semifinals tonight (Monday):
4A: Seneca Valley (15-2-1) will face Canon-McMillan (16-2) at Mars high school at 8pm.
3A: Mars (18-1-1) will meet West Allegheny (18-1) at Moon high school at 8pm.
WPIAL Girls Volleyball quarterfinals tonight:
4A:
–Butler will visit North Allegheny at 7:30pm.
–Pine-Richland will host Norwin at 7:30pm.
