A woman from Michigan has been charged following an incident at a Cranberry Township bank last weekend.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Cranberry Township Police, 24-year-old Shanice Dewalt of Detroit will face charges including felony forgery, robbery, and access device fraud.
Police responded to West View Savings Bank Saturday around 10:30 a.m. for a panic alarm. The bank manager identified Dewalt, who was leaving the bank, as a person who attempted to commit theft.
Dewalt allegedly lunged at the bank manager and tried to grab him when told that her check was believed to be fraudulent and would not be cashed. She did grab part of the check before fleeing the building but police were able to confirm that she never worked for the company she said issued the check to her.
