A Pittsburgh woman is facing charges after robbing a gas station in Zelienople late last week.
Police were called to the Sunoco gas station on North Main Street in Zelienople for an armed robbery on January 3.
The alleged thief came into the store with a gun and told the employee to empty the cash register. Money was also taken from the skill game machine.
Video surveillance was used to identify a license plate of the suspect’s vehicle. Police say it belongs to 45-year-old Andrea Carney.
Police in Allegheny, Beaver, and Butler were made aware of Carney’s movement on highway cameras. Eventually the vehicle was tracked and search warrant was granted. A pistol and clothing Carney was wearing was found in the vehicle.
The gun was also found to be stolen from Ohio in May of 2024.
Carney is facing several charges including robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm.
