A woman is facing a number of charges after she allegedly burglarized a home in Chicora.
Police say the incident happened last Monday when 31-year-old Tashawa Francis of Chicora went into a home on Green Street while the elderly homeowner was out.
However, the 80-year-old woman returned home soon and found Francis on the second floor.
Police say that Francis fled with about $90 in coins, a checkbook, and a credit card, which was recovered and returned to the victim. They also believe she took $1,300 in cash and over $1,000 in jewelry that wasn’t found.
Francis was taken into custody and placed in the Butler County Prison.
