The battle between Governor Tom Wolf and Senate Republicans continues to escalate over the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
Wolf withdrew his nominees to the Public Utility Commission last week, after Senate Republicans said they would block any nominee to actually serve on the commission.
A Wolf administration spokesperson said that the acting members of the commission can carry out the same duties as a confirmed member and that it’s not necessary to move forward with the nomination process.
Senate Republicans believe that the initiative will lead to a loss in jobs and a higher carbon tax on state residents.
