It’s been a blustery morning in Butler which resulted in dozens of calls for down wires and trees throughout the county.
Incidents have been reported all morning long including…
- Rowan Road in Cranberry Township was closed due to trees across the road and downed wires.
- A tree down was briefly knocked down onto North Main Street near the cemetery
- A tree was on fire in the 400 block of Freeport Road near the pet cemetery
- A listener also told our newsroom that the Golden Apple sign on New Castle hill has also been ripped off by the wind, which could cause traffic delays.
As of noon today, more than 1,700 Butler County residents are without power between West Penn and Central Electric.
Wind gusts have peaked at 54 miles per hour today in Butler County according to the National Weather Service.
