Following the landfall of Hurricane Michael earlier this week, more people from Western Pennsylvania- including one from Butler County- are among the Red Cross volunteers heading south to help.
18 people have been sent to Florida and Georgia from the Greater Pennsylvania Region so far to help those affected by the third strongest hurricane to hit the U.S. coast in recorded history.
Many other Red Cross volunteers are still helping in recovery efforts from Hurricane Florence last month, although that assistance has shifted from sheltering to casework and bulk distribution.
A total of 93 people from our 50 county region have joined over 3,000 Red Cross volunteers from across the country to help with storm relief efforts since Hurricane Florence made landfall last month.
