The Slippery Rock University football team will visit Notre Dame College in Ohio Saturday in the NCAA Division II quarterfinals. Kick-off is noon. The Coach Shawn Lutz Show begins at 11:30am on The Rock Station 97.7fm.
The Rock enters the game 11-2 overall. Notre Dame is 12-0 and began the tournament as the #1 seed in Super Region One. The Rock entered as the #7-seed. The two teams have never met in football.
The Duquesne football team will visit South Dakota State Saturday in the second round of the FCS playoffs. Kick-off is 3pm.
Numerous Conference championship football games this weekend will determine the final four teams that will compete for a national championship in Division One.
–#2-ranked Clemson will meet Pitt in the ACC title game Saturday in Charlotte. Kick-off is 8pm.
(Pitt has never lost to the Tigers – going 2-0. The Panthers beat Clemson in 2016 and in the 1977 Gator Bowl. Clemson is favored in this game by 27-1/2.)
–#1-ranked Alabama will meet #4-ranked Georgia in the SEC championship Saturday in Atlanta. Kick-off is 4pm.

The high school football state semifinal games will be played this weekend.
–Pine-Richland will meet St. Joseph’s Prep Saturday at Mansion Park in Altoona in Class 6A. Kick-off is 1pm.
–Penn Hills will meet Archbishop Wood in the 5A semifinals tonight in Chambersburg. (7p)
–Our Lady of Sacred Heart will face Farrell at Slippery Rock University tonight at 7pm.
–Steel Valley and Wilmington meet in the 2A semifinals tonight at Ambridge high school. (7p)
–In the 3A semifinals – Sharon will meet Aliquippa Saturday at Slippery Rock University. Kick-off is 1pm.
–In 4A: Erie Cathedral Prep and Bishop McDevitt will play at Mansion Park in Altoona tonight at 7pm.
The first round of the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament begins tonight. Pitt will meet Iona at 7pm at the Petersen Events Center. Michigan and Navy play at 4pm. The winners advance to the second round Saturday at 7pm.
