September is Suicide Prevention Month and the VA is continuing their “Reach Out” campaign in an effort to reduce Veteran suicide.
The campaign encourages people to “Reach Out” to veterans by being present and supportive for those who may be going through a difficult time.
The VA has many resources and programs dedicated to helping veterans and their supporters such as the local suicide prevention team and the VA Solid Start program which helps with risk assessments for veterans transitioning out of the military service.
To learn more about the “Reach Out” initiative, you can visit the VA’s Reach Suicide Prevention Month website.
