The Slippery Rock University football team moved up one spot in this week’s Regional Rankings to number seven. The top seven in the region are selected to play in the NCAA Division II tournament.
The Rock still remain just outside the national top-25. Their opponent in this week’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship, West Chester has moved into the Top-10 at #9 this week.
Kutztown moved up two spots to #21. IUP is up one spot to #22.
The Rock and West Chester kick-off is 1pm Saturday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Hear the game on The Rock Station 97.7fm.
Rock running back Wes Hills was named the PSAC-West offensive player of the week after his third consecutive 200-yard rushing day last week against Gannon.
Rock kicker Jake Chapla was named special teams player of the week for the fourth time this season. Chapla kicked two field goals in the victory.
