Two Allegheny County residents are facing charges following a traffic stop that occurred late last week in Butler Township.
According to State Police, troopers conducted the stop on New Castle Road just before 4pm on Friday.
During the stop, police say that they searched the vehicle and found a handgun and two magazines in addition to cash and a variety of drugs, including 100 bags of suspected fentanyl.
Authorities say that one of the occupants of the vehicle, 44-year-old Charles Lloyd of West Mifflin, became aggressive during the stop and assaulted two troopers.
Lloyd as well as the other vehicle occupant, 24-year-old Tylah Witherspoon of Pittsburgh, were later transported to the Butler County Prison.
A complete list of charges relating to Friday’s stop was not immediately available.
