Friday’s update from the state Department of Health showed that Butler County continues to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Only three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Butler County today—bringing the county’s total to 157 cases.
Meanwhile the state is nearing 30,000 confirmed cases after more than 1,700 cases were reported today. There have also been 756 people who have died from coronavirus symptoms.
So far there have been over 117,000 negative tests.
But state Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says the recent week has shown the effectiveness of social distancing.
“Our trends show that the Pennsylvanians sacrifice to stay home is working,” Levine said. “We have been able to flatten that curve and to date our healthcare system is stable, and to-date, we have not had a wave of cases that has overwhelmed our system.”
