A teenager was injured as a result of a vehicle versus bicycle crash Monday afternoon in Mercer Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 3:30 p.m. for the collision on Route 8 North just north of Harrisville.
Police say the 14-year-old boy was riding in the south lane of Route 8 when 58-year-old Joyce Ledonne tried to pass him. At that time, the teen moved from the shoulder of the road into the southbound lane leading to the collision.
The boy suffered a head injury and had to be taken to Grove City Medical Center. Police also say he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Traffic needed to be delayed for a time in that area in order to allow for emergency responders to clear the scene.
