The man charged in Saturday’s Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh will return to court later this week.
After an initial appearance Monday afternoon, Robert Bowers will have another hearing Thursday, November 1st at 10 a.m. At that time prosecutors will present evidence that Bowers killed 11 people and injured six others Saturday morning at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Until then Bowers will be held in jail without bond.
U.S. Attorney Scott Brady spoke at a press conference Sunday.
“During his deadly assault, Bowers made statements regarding genocide and his desire to kill Jewish people,” Brady said.
Investigation of Bowers’ home, his vehicle and social media activity is ongoing.
Governor Tom Wolf condemned the shooting and called for unity and action to prevent such tragedies in future; he also ordered flags flown at half-staff until further notice.
