While students enjoy the day off, Seneca Valley teachers and staff will participate in a national preparedness workshop that’s meant to help improve survival following a school shooting or other mass casualty event.
“Stop The Bleed” is a hands-on training created in response to increased gun violence across the country.
Data shows uncontrolled bleeding is one of the most frequent causes of death in the wake of a traumatic event. Local emergency medical services- including Cranberry and Harmony EMS, and UPMC Passavant of Cranberry- will be instructing Seneca Valley Staff at the Haine Elementary/Middle School Cafeteria.
A second training will be held at the Seneca Valley Intermediate High School in November.
