A kidnapped child from Connecticut was located by police earlier this weekend in Mercer County after authorities used cell phone information to track the suspected kidnappers.
According to the Mercer State Police, troopers were dispatched to I-80 in Wolf Creek Township around 5:30pm on Friday after a cell phone ping used by authorities showed that the three suspects related to the New Haven crime were located nearby.
Authorities were then able to locate the car, and took the suspects back to the barracks. Following an investigation that included the New Haven Police, two suspects, a 20-year-old woman and a 39-year-old woman, were booked in the Mercer County Jail.
Officials say that the three-year-old child was placed in emergency custody with Child and Youth Services until a proper custodian could be identified.
