Support continues to pour in following a deadly shooting at a Squirrel Hill Synagogue that occurred earlier this weekend.
On Saturday, eleven victims were killed and at least six, including four police officers, were injured by gunfire during a service at the Tree of Life Synagogue around 9:45am.
According to our news partners at WPXI, the suspected gunman is 46-year-old Robert Bowers of Baldwin, who was also injured. He is facing 29 federal counts of violence and firearms charges.
Organizations such as the Red Cross and Vitalant (formerly Central Blood Bank) have been offering services to assist those impacted by the shooting. Vitalant held extended hours on Saturday to collect additional blood for victims, and the Red Cross Mental Health Team has been available at the Jewish Community Center to provide support.
Leaders from Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have offered words of support and encouragement following Saturday’s tragic event.
