Armco Credit Union will host a college planning seminar on Thursday amid a new study that finds most high school and college students are not prepared to manage the cost of college.
A survey by Junior Achievement and Citizens Bank targeted 1,500 high school juniors, seniors and college freshman and found that most of them have less than $1,000 saved for college.
The study found 50 percent of juniors and 42 percent of high school seniors admitted they don’t actually know the cost of college tuition.
Armco Credit Union’s seminar will include understanding financial aid and applying for scholarships and grants. The seminar begins at 6:30 p.m. at the credit union on Hollywood Drive in Butler. Click here to register.
