State lawmakers will see a major bump in salary next year.
Due to legislation that ties lawmaker’s salaries to increases in inflation, legislators will get a more than 7 percent raise.
For most rank-and-file lawmakers, they will make nearly $103,000 next year. Those in leadership positions will bring in around $160,000.
The law also applies to other elected offices, including county commonwealth judges that will see their salaries rise over $200,000.
The legislation was implemented in 1990s in order so elected officials didn’t have to vote on giving themselves raises.
