Having completed their business Friday, members of the state House and Senate headed home for their summer recess.
Many lawmakers declared it a successful legislative session. Lawmakers sent a budget to the governor on time and passed bills which invest in education and help crime victims, farmers and veterans.
House Majority Leader Bryan Cutler (R-York) praised the work done by the House.
“I believe we should be very proud of our efforts on behalf of the citizens of the Commonwealth,” Cutler said. “As a chamber, we passed nearly 250 bills. Many of those were bipartisan.”
The House is scheduled to return to session on September 17. The Senate will reconvene on Sept. 23.
