Members of the Wolf Administration are trying to bring awareness to the need for more bus drivers.
Transportation and Education officials teamed up to send letters to people who have CDLs to gage interest in driving bus.
“PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Department of Education reached out to approximated 376,000 drivers with commercial drivers license to issue survey that will connected interested with school entities,” Kurt Myers, deputy secretary of PennDOT said.
He says there are just over 42,000 bus drivers in Pennsylvania right now, which is the lowest number in the last five years.
