Former Slippery Rock University defensive end Marcus Martin was signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad Wednesday. Martin, who was the 2017 NCAA Division-II Defensive Player of the Year, spent the majority of preseason training camp with the Rams, before being cut as the team submitted its final 53-man roster to the NFL. Less than three weeks later, the Rams brought Martin back. He will earn a minimum of $7,600 per week while signed to the Rams practice squad. Martin currently holds the all-time record for sacks at all levels of NCAA football.
Thursday Night Football: CLeveland will host the New York Jets tonight at 8:20pm. The Jets enter the game 1-1. The Browns are 0-1-1.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have disciplined wide receiver Antonio Brown for missing practice Monday. Brown met with head coach Mike Tomlin this week, and was likely fined, but will play Monday in Tampa Bay.
