Slippery Rock University will host a large number of people for an upcoming symposium and product expo later this week.
SRU’s President’s Commission on Sustainability will join with the League of Women Voters for the environmental protection program “Beyond Plastic: Can’t Reuse it? Refuse it!” on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Smith Student Center.
This event is free and open to SRU students, faculty, and staff with over 1,000 expected to attend including hundreds of local high school students and teachers.
The event will include speakers, films, and panel discussions related to sustainability as well as demonstrations of environmentally friendly products and do-it-yourself workshops. There will also be an art exhibition and hourly door prizes.
