Slippery Rock University is taking another step towards a greener campus through a unique partnership.
Ever-Green Energy, a utility operator and sustainable energy advisor headquartered in Minnesota selected SRU as one of two schools to join the “Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality” program.
Ever-Green will offer the services of expert consultants to the university for free along with additional support through the West Penn Power Sustainable Energy Fund.
A Climate Action Plan from 2012 states SRU’s goal as achieving carbon neutrality by no longer emitting greenhouse gases on campus by 2037. Ever-Green Energy will work with the university over the next year to map out plans to replace the central utility plant on campus.
