Slippery Rock University has chosen the school’s next Chief Diversity Officer.
Youngstown, Ohio native and current associate dean for diversity and inclusion at Thiel College Anthony Jones has been named to the new cabinet-level position at SRU. Jones will lead strategic diversity planning to help all students succeed as well as coordinate efforts to create a more inclusive environment for all students and employees.
Jones was hired following a series of interviews with interested candidates at SRU this summer. Jones replaces Terrence Mitchell who moved on to take on responsibilities at other institutions earlier this year.
Jones is expected to officially begin his new position in mid-December.
