The Butler BlueSox have also won six games in a row, following a 6-3 victory over West Virginia Sunday. The Sox scored three runs in the eighth. Wyatt Daugherty earned the win with two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The Sox are now 17-25 overall, and host the Miners again tonight at 7:05pm.
The Altoona Curve lost 7-1 to Erie Sunday. The Curve took three of five games in the series which followed the Eastern League All-Star game.
The Pirates had two representatives at the annual “Futures Game” in Washington Sunday. Ke’Bryan Hayes started at third base for the U.S. team had a home run. Mitch Keller started the game and tossed a perfect inning. The U.S. defeated the World 10-6.
The St. Louis Cardinals fired manager Mike Metheny over the weekend.
