Starting tonight strong snow showers will be moving into Butler County impacting tomorrows morning commute.
The National Weather Service has already issued a winter weather advisory for Lawrence, Indiana, Armstrong, and Butler counties starting at 4pm today.
The advisory will last until Friday morning with snow totals expected to be between four to seven inches over the next two days.
Mike Kennedy, a meteorologist with the NWS, says that although snow accumulation will range from two inches to four inches into tomorrow morning visibility and temperatures will drop quickly.
“Overnight and into to tomorrow morning is when we’re going to get the most accumulation but there is potential for snow squalls,” said Kennedy. “Those are more isolated, they’re kind of bursts but you can define it like a sudden heavy snow and with all the strong winds, it’s kind of like what out conditions.”
Kennedy also said temperatures will remain below freezing until Sunday and those traveling on I-79 and I-80 in the northern counties should be cautions of difficult weather conditions.
