A rap battle in Slippery Rock earlier this week ended in violence and charges against a Westmoreland County man.
According to a criminal complaint, just after midnight early Monday morning State Police were dispatched to a large fight at The Heights at Slippery Rock apartment complex.
A 21-year-old man was found unconscious and witnesses told police that the victim was rap battling with 23-year-old Nicholas Lucia of Mt. Pleasant when Lucia allegedly punched the other man. Lucia then jumped on the victim and continued to punch him in the head and face according to the complaint.
Lucia then allegedly went to a location on Still Water Lane and broke a window. There Lucia got into a verbal altercation with another man who he then threatened with a gun, police say. Lucia’s girlfriend then reportedly drove him from that scene back to her apartment where he was arrested by police. As he was handcuffed in the back of the police car, Lucia allegedly crawled into the front seat and attempted to escape out of the front passenger door.
Lucia has been charged with felony aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, and escape as well as misdemeanor simple assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment.
