A local lawmaker will take on a position of leadership for the next legislative session.
Republican State Senator Joe Pittman announced Tuesday that he has been chosen as the new Senate Majority Leader.
This position will allow Pittman to oversee the legislative agenda, develop policies and strategies for the Senate Republican caucus, and play a key role in floor debates. Pittman previously chaired the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee.
Pittman represents a portion of eastern Butler County along with Armstrong, Indiana, and a portion of Westmoreland County in the 41st Senatorial District.
