The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 12-1 on the road last night. Leading the way for the Pirates was Sean Rodriguez with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. Starling Marte also added 4 RBI’s. Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon got the win, his record is now 7-7. Tyler Mahle took the loss for the Reds; his record is now 7-8. The Pirates are now 49-49 on the season with a current 7 games win streak. They are back in action this evening for their second game with the Reds, starting pitchers for tonight’s game are Nick Kingham (4-4, 4.26 ERA) for Pirates and Anthony DeSclafani (4-2, 5.32). The BlueSox lost to the Chillicothe Paints 2-1 in a rain shorted event. The BlueSox are 19-28 and playing Chillicothe again this evening. BlueSox host West Virginia on Sunday.
