The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Winnipeg Jets by a score of 4-1 Friday night.
Michael Bunting had the Pens’ only goal in the game. Starting goaltender Tristan Jarry stopped 26 shots out of 29.
The Penguins are back in action tonight against the Utah Hockey Club. Face-off is 7 PM with WISR pre-game beginning at 6:30 PM.
The Pittsburgh Pirates non-tendered three players ahead of the non-tender deadline on Friday night.
Headlining the trio is outfielder Bryan De La Cruz, who the Pirates acquired at this past year’s trade deadline from the Miami Marlins for two prospects. De La Cruz had a rough time with the Pirates, hitting just .200 with a .594 OPS in 44 games along with shaky defense. He was set to make $4M in arbitration.
In addition the Pirates non-tended outfielder Connor Joe, who spent the last 2 season with the team, and relief pitcher Hunter Stratton, who had missed the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
