The South Butler School Board will pay for a building inspection as they consider purchasing a piece of property near the district campus.
The board was recently approached by the Allegheny Insurance Group with an offer to sell their building and property located at the corner of Knoch Road and Dinnerbell Road.
A price of $165,000 was negotiated and the district was granted a 90-day window in order to consider the purchase. The board approved a motion to pay $1,500 for a building inspection to be carried out on Friday.
The property currently sits next to a student parking area but, according to Superintendent Dr. David Foley, the district is still considering possible uses if the purchase is made.
