According to SportsBusiness DAILY, Furniture Row
Racing’s talks to sell its assets to G-M-S Racing have
broken down – creating the possibility that 2017
Monster Energy Series champion Martin Truex Junior
may move to Joe Gibbs Racing as the replacement for
Daniel Suarez in the team’s Number-19 Toyota.
S-B-D’s reporting would have Suarez moving over to
Leavine Family Racing as the replacement for Kasey
Kahne, who recently announced that the 2018 season
would be his last as a full-time driver. Last month,
5-hour ENERGY informed Furniture Row Racing and
Truex that it would end its sponsorship at the
conclusion of the current campaign. The Michiganbased
company has been a NASCAR team sponsor for
nearly ten years, the last two of which they’ve been
associated with F-R-R … Truex is among forty-one
drivers on the preliminary entry list for Sunday night’s
Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway and
one of twelve drivers who have clinched 2018 playoff
berths.
