At least one person was injured as a result of a crash in Summit Township that delayed traffic Tuesday afternoon.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 2 p.m. for a crash on Route 422 eastbound just past the Jefferson Street exit.
Crews from Herman and East Butler arrived to find a male unresponsive and entrapped in a heavily damaged vehicle. He was able to be extricated after about 15 minutes and transported to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
A HAZMAT team was called to the scene for cleanup of over 50 gallons of spilled diesel fuel from a tractor trailer.
The cause of the crash is not known. A portion of 422 needed to be closed at the Route 68 exit to allow crews to clean up the scene.
