A project that will improve streets near a local park is advancing closer to completion.
The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler heard an update during a meeting on Thursday about work currently going on to replace parts of Kaufman Drive and Lincoln Avenue, near Father Marinaro Park.
Construction on the first phase of the project began May 28 with curb and sidewalk upgrades as well as a stabilization of the road base. Paving of the road is expected to take place Monday,
Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed by mid-July.
Money to pay for this project is coming from over $185,000 set aside for street improvements in the 2015 and 2017 state Community Development Block Grants.
