Local residents have a couple of upcoming opportunities to give blood and help the American Red Cross as well as cancer patients and others in need.
St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on West Jefferson Street in Butler City will host a blood drive on Tuesday from noon to 5:30 p.m.
Next Monday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. a second blood drive will be held on the campus of Slippery Rock University at the Robert Smith Student Center.
As a thank you, those who donate blood during the month of October will be entered for a chance to win one of five $500 gift cards redeemable at hundreds of merchants.
Those interested or able to donate are asked to make an appointment by downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
