The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is lifting a moratorium on door-to-door, public event, and in-person energy sales and marketing activities by competitive energy suppliers.
The moratorium was originally put in place as part of an Emergency Order at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic due to health concerns about spreading the virus.
This action follows a 30 day public comment period in May in which the PUC gathered information about the necessity of the moratorium.
Suppliers engaging in door-to-door, public event, and in-person sales and marketing activities must still comply with relevant orders and guidance of the Governor and the Secretary of Health as well as all applicable PUC regulations and orders.
