An organization that helps veterans in Butler and many surrounding counties has assistance available for local service members in need.
The Veterans Leadership Program is able to assist veterans in need of rental payments, utility costs, moving costs, or emergency housing.
This group recently received over $1 million from the Veterans Administration towards the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program and to help veterans impacted by COVID-19.
This money will assist unsheltered veterans in 30 counties including Butler into hotels and permanent housing, allow veterans to access rental assistance, and help veterans avoid becoming homeless.
To be screened for eligibility, veterans are asked to call 844-VLP-VETS.
