An Armstrong County man has been charged with a theft that occurred in Middlesex Township earlier this month.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Middlesex Township Police Department, 27-year-old Anthony Parrotta of Kittanning is facing charges including felony theft by unlawful taking and burglary.
Over $10,000 worth of items, including a large Coke bottle bank filled with change, were stolen from a residence on Browns Hill Road in early July while the family was on vacation. Police found surveillance footage of three men cashing the contents of the bank at the change machine at the Butler Walmart. One of the men was identified as Parrotta.
One of the other men identified was Brandon Dolan. A search warrant was issued for Dolan’s residence Monday (7/29) morning. Dolan and Parrotta were at the residence but Dolan ran off. Parrotta was taken into custody and provided additional details about the burglary. Some items were pawned while others were recovered.
Dolan and the third man involved, identified as RJ, have not been located. A 22 caliber gun that was stolen from the residence is also still missing.
