Local law enforcement is releasing information about a couple of drug overdoses by students at the Butler Senior High in January.
According to Butler Township Police, officers were dispatched to the Senior High for two different students overdosing on THC through a vape device that they obtained while at school January 3rd.
First, a 16-year-old student was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital by ambulance after first period. A 14-year-old student who delivered the vape was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A 16-year-old female was also charged in connection with that incident.
The second incident occurred at lunch when a 14-year-old female inhaled THC through a vape pen and needed to be transported by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. A 14-year-old male student was identified as the person responsible for the vape and charged with drug offenses.
Both students fully recovered.
