The Pitt men’s basketball team were blown out on their home court last night 73-57 by Virginia. Pitt fell behind early, and trailed 34-19 at the half. Head coach Jeff Capel apologized after the game for the Panthers performance, calling it the “worst game by any team he has coached”. The loss dropped the Panthers to 14-8 overall, and now 5-6 in the ACC.
Pitt has now lost six of their last eight games, and also likely seriously damaged any NCAA tournament hopes for Pitt. The Panthers visit North Carolina Saturday.
