The Pirates have promoted infielder Termarr Johnson to Double-A Altoona. He made his first appearance in the Altoona lineup last night, batting second and playing second base. Johnson was the fourth overall selection in the 2022 draft by the Pirates out of Mays High School in Georgia. At 20 years, two months and 16 days he slots in as third-youngest player to suit up for Altoona. Johnson had been playing for High-A Greensboro this season, where he helped the Grasshoppers to the first half title in the South Atlantic League. He had 31 extra-base hits in 110 games this season. After a slow start to his season, he hit .317 in the month of July, and had a 19-game on-base streak. Johnson is considered the Pirates #3 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
