The Pittsburgh Pirates pounded the Houston Astros 14-2 last night. The Bucs totaled 15 hits in the game and starting pitcher Dario Agrazal allowed one runs on five hits over six innings for the win. Josh Bell hit his 21st home run of the season. The Bucs also had home runs by Jung Ho Kang and Kevin Newman. Newman and Corey Dickerson each had four runs and drove in three. First baseman Jose Osuna also drove in three.
The two teams complete their three-game series today at 2:10pm. WISR pre-game will be 1:45pm. Former Astros pitcher Joe Musgrove will start for the Pirates. It will be his first appearance at Minute Maid Park since earning the win in relief during Game 5 of the 2017 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Pirates first baseman Josh Bell is in a battle with Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman for the opportunity to start the Major League Baseball All-Star game in Cleveland in July. Fan voting takes place until 4pm today. The starter’s will be announced tonight at 7pm.
