Corey Dickerson of the Pittsburgh Pirates won a Gold Glove Award for his work in left field this season. It is his first Gold Glove and first since Starling Marte won one two years ago.
The Pirates announced over the weekend that Rick Eckstein has been hired as the club’s new hitting coach. The 45-year-old Eckstein spent the last two seasons serving as Minnesota’s minor league hitting coordinator. This will be his second big league job as a hitting coach after holding the same position for the Washington Nationals from 2009-13.
