
The Pirates Double-A minor league club, the Altoona Curve won the Eastern League title Thursday, following a 4-2 victory over Trenton in Game Three of championship Series. One of the Pirates top pitching prospects, Mitch Keller, allowed just four hits and the two runs over 7-1/3rd innings. He walked one and struck out eight. It is Altoona’s second league championship.
The Cleveland Indians won their 22nd game in a row with a come-from-behind win over the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in 10-innings last night. The Indians tied the score in the 9th inning and scored the game-winner on a Jay Bruce walk-off hit.
