The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-7 Thursday. The Dodgers used nine relievers in the game, with only one reliever completing at least two innings. Pirates starter Jameson Taillon allowed three runs on eight hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out seven. Relievers Tyler Glasnow and Michael Feliz allowed five runs over the next four innings.
Catchers Francisco Cervelli and Elias Diaz each homered for the Bucs. The catching duo lead the National League with 13 home runs. Cervelli now has a career-high nine home runs.
It was the sixth consecutive series the Pirates have lost. They fell back to 31-31 overall.
The Bucs are now in Chicago, and begin a three-game weekend series with the Cubs. All three games begin at 2:20pm. WISR 680am will join the broadcast at 2pm today.

The Butler BlueSox managed just four singles in an 8-0 loss to West Virginia last night. The Sox fell to 2-6. They begin a two-game series with Champion City tonight in Springfield, Ohio.
The Altoona Curve shutout the Reading Fighting Phils 1-0 Thursday. Tyler Hearn pitched seven scoreless innings. Combing the Mitch Keller the day before, the Curve starters have combined for 13 consecutive scoreless innings.
