The Pittsburgh Pirates fell in extra innings to the San Francisco Giants early Saturday night by a final of 2-1.
Chad Kuhl was the starting pitcher for the Bucs, and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, which was broken up by solo shot to center field that just missed Andrew McCutchen’s glove. The Giants scored again in the top of the 11th, thanks in part to a wild pitch that got past catcher Ellias Diaz.
Andrew McCutchen paced the Pirates offensively, finishing with a double, two walks, and one run. The Pirates left a total of 14 runners on base in the losing effort.
The Giants and Pirates will wrap up their series Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh, as the Pirates will start a long road trip on Monday. You can catch all of Sunday’s action, starting with pregame coverage on WISR 680AM. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35pm.
