The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-5 Thursday evening, and split their four game series with the Bucs. The Pirates bullpen allowed another game to escape when Aroldis Chapman allowed a game-winning two-run home run to Brewers catcher Gary Sanchez in the eighth inning. The Brewers added another run in the ninth inning against Roansy Contreras.
Pirates catcher Joey Bart hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Mitch Keller allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out seven. Bryan Reynolds added two hits.
The Bucs open a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants tonight. First pitch will be 10:15pm. Pre-game on WISR is 9:50pm. Quinn Priester will start for the Bucs tonight.
The Pirates play the Giants again Saturday at 9:05pm. WISR pre-game is 8:40pm.
The Bucs and Giants complete their series Sunday afternoon at 4:05pm. WISR pre-game will be 3:40pm.
