The PIAA Playoffs in Soccer and Volleyball begin today.
–The WPIAL champion Seneca Valley Boys Soccer team will meet Landisville-Hempfield at Hempfield high school tonight at 5pm in the 4A First Round.
–The WPIAL champion Seneca Valley Girls Soccer team will face Central Dauphin-also at Hempfield high school at 7pm.
–In the 3A First Round: The Mars Girls Soccer team will face Manheim Central at Cedar Crest high school at 5pm.
–In the 2A First Round: The District-9 champion Karns City will meet Villa Maria at Clarion University at 7pm.
Girls Volleyball:
–WPIAL champion and defending state champion Knoch will meet Elizabeth Forward at North Catholic high school at 7pm in the 3A First Round.
–North Allegheny plays the first game at North Catholic against Erie McDowell at 5:30pm in 4A.
–In the 2A First Round: WPIAL champion North Catholic will face North Star at North Allegheny high school at 7pm.
–Freeport will meet Redbank Valley at Dubois high school at 5pm, also in the 2A First Round.
High School Hockey:
–Bethel Park defeated Butler 5-1.
–Seneca Valley defeated Canon-McMillan 5-1.
–The Butler Middle School hockey team defeated Pine-Richland 9-2. Butler scored four goals in the opening period. Nathan Querry scored twice and Brayden Povlick had three assists. Butler improved to 4-0.
