The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Washington Capitals tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:30pm. The Capitals have won seven games in a row. The Pens have won four of their past five games.
The Pens have recalled Joseph Blandisi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on an emergency basis after Zach Aston-Reese was injured in the victory over Boston Sunday.
Last night in the NHL:
–The New York Islanders shut-out Columbus 2-0. The Islanders moved to within two points of the Capitals.
–Carolina defeated Colorado 3-0. The Hurricanes jump over the Pittsburgh Penguins into third place in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus and Montreal are now tied for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, two points behind the Pens. (Columbus currently wins the tie-breaker over the Canadiens.)
